When I research running and running types of events, I come across a lot of different races such as 5ks, half marathons, marathons, mud runs, color runs, you name it. There are so many different types of runs to choose from and it may be difficult to pick one that would be the best fit for you. Come back tomorrow and will go a little more in depth about how to pick the right run for you.
In this post I would like to first talk about and mention upcoming runs in the Raleigh Durham, North Carolina area. Later in this post I will mention several other upcoming popular races in the U.S.. For now, let me share a few runs that I would like to do around the area.
Raleigh, NC:
- Run Like a Pirate! 5k, 10k, 13.1, 26.2
Saturday, September 19, 2015 - Wednesday, September 30, 2015
- St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer
Saturday, September 6, 2015
- Raleigh City of Oaks Marathon and Rex Healthcare Half Marathon
Sunday, November 1, 2015
Durham, NC:
- The Color Run Research Triangle Park
Saturday, October 3, 2015
I would love to participate in races all across the world, not just the U.S., but traveling takes money. Here are a few upcoming popular races in the U.S.
- America's Finest City Half Marathon (San Diego, CA)
August 16, 2015
**This half marathon is run on a fast, scenic, point-to-point course that starts at the historic Cabrillo National Monumentat the tip of Point Loma, follows the scenic San Diego Bay and Harbor Island, winds through downtown San Diego and finishes in Balboa Park.
- The Hard Cider Run (Biglerville, PA)
August 22, 2015 (9am, 10am, and 5pm starting times)
**This run is run unlike one I have seen before. The site says "Dash
down orchard rows, tackle the rolling hills, and see first hand where
the hard cider comes from."
- Spartan Race (Boston Sprint Weekend)
August 29-30, 2015
3-5 miles with 20-23 obstacles
**I would really like to do one of these one day, but they look SO intimidating!
- 10k/5k at Six Flags New England (near Springfield, MA)
September 6, 2015
**For less than a price of a ticket, run the 10k, 5k walk/run and spend the day at Six Flags New England having fun.
